It annoys me when people give smart devices to their kids, then complain about the terrible effect it has on them. Like yeah, that's what you get when you neglect the "parenting" part of being a parent.

Why blame the kids when the parents put devices on them instead of teaching them how to draw or just play with simple toys

My daughter-in-law was a music teacher, and one kid had a real meltdown. He cursed, threw things, and when she (gently, but firmly) reprimanded, he hit her. Last I knew, she was working as a secretary and has given up on teaching.

I was born in 2008, and had an iPad with unrestricted internet access at the age of 4. That iPad completely ruined my life from the ages of 4 to like 12. I had zero social skills and was constantly getting in trouble for behavioral issues. By 12 I had very few friends, extremely low self esteem, and absolutely zero social skills. I was miserable. I don’t blame my parents, as they didn’t know the consequences at the time, but it pains me that they gave my little sister an iPad out of the womb and I’ve been trying to keep her off of it as hard as I can. This is a pandemic and it’s not being recognized because of lazy parents.

I had a father who was addicted to alcohol, and it took over his whole personality and destroyed his mind. He was only thinking about how to get a bottle. I am so scared these kids are experiencing the same with the phones and tablets.

Last summer I was volunteering at the YMCA kids camp and 3 kids under 8 years old were caught watching gore and r*p* videos on one of their phones, i didn’t see them myself but they basically made a big deal and called all the parents to discuss what happened, none of this was possible that long ago so it’s scary to think what these videos are going to do in the long run

Don't let kids unsupervised, people really underestimate how much an event/video can change their perspective. think about a moment that definitively influenced your mind back then that doesn't look like a big deal to you today.

I'm a Gen Alpha but I'm NOT like those iPad kids. By the way don't blame the kids, blame the parents because they are the ones who cause these types of situations

the guy who made skibidi toilet just made it for fun, but unintentionally created a genre of misery...

Friend of mine switched from the newer style cartoons (like Cocolemon) to cartoons we watched in the 90s. They said the difference was night and day. Their son is more engaged, less zombie like when watching the television, and more talkative.

People forget that gen z was born before iPads and iPhones were popular, I grew up with dvds.

My brother was struggling to form words at almost two years which concerned us but not enough to take matters into our hands. But once he stopped watching CoComelon, he started developing words. I never cared about that until now, when I heard about that mother's experience.

I'm 13 and I feel lucky to have found friends my age who are like me, as I have been bullied multiple times for "not being like other girls" just because I don't use tik tok and snapchat or whatever. I used to actually like going to school because I could hang out and talk to my friends, but now school is just way too overwhelming, I feel like its driving me insane. People lashing out against the teachers for seemingly no reason, and people disrupting the lesson makes it so hard for me to concentrate, especially because I'm autistic and possibly have ADHD.

I have a 3 yr old son. He gets limited tv/screen time. He eats healthy, reads books, and goes outside. And he's AMAZING. At the end of the day it's on parents. Raise your own kid instead of relying on technology to do it for you. Is parenting a challenge? Yes but that's what you signed up for. Stop making excuses

I have a 13-year-old nephew. On his birthday, the whole family was together, and he only left his room for a few minutes. He spent the whole day of his birthday in his room with his tablet in his hands. And everyday is the same thing. This is sad af.

My advice to all new parents: do not give them your phone. Boredom fosters creativity. If you give them a device, block things that are inappropriate. lol make them play outside, play with them. Set limits: 30 minutes after playtime and homework are done. 30 minutes if chores are done.

This info needs to be way more wide spread. It's a depressing reality that way too many people just ignore.

''Rizz'' is not just ''charisma'', the thing is its often used in sexual context.
i think the meaning should be changed to ''seductive charisma''
