Stuttering is recognized and celebrated worldwide as International Stuttering Awareness Day on October 22 each year. It is a day for members of stuttering associations around the world to educate, advocate, and raise awareness of stuttering. People from around the world call it both stuttering or stammering. It’s a time to help the world better understand neurodiverse speech.

Each year, to celebrate ISAD, a month-long online conference is held in October, with people from all interests in stuttering contributing papers, audio, video or creative expression. People can interact with authors and ask questions and get answers. It’s a wonderful opportunity to engage with people globally.

During Stuttering: An International Conversation, we feature representatives from around the world who speak about what’s happening in their countries, share ideas, and discuss how we can all collaborate to understand that stuttering is just a different way of talking.

Panelists include:

Bruno Villegas (Peru)
Emmanuel Makokha (Kenya)
Shilpa Sagwal (India)
Tsvetana Dimitrova (Bulgaria)
Elias Apreko (Ghana)
Marc Vankralingen (The Netherlands)

NSA Connects is designed to bring together the stuttering community to share, learn, and socialize. Each NSA Connects session will be focused on a theme to discuss interesting perspectives on living life as a person who stutters.
