Covert stuttering is a unique and interesting form of stuttering. Most people at some point in their journey try to hide their stutter. For some, it’s taken a large toll on their lives and affects many decisions. For others, it’s a way to navigate through the world we live in. Our panel of speakers consists of current and former covert people who stutter that share their stories, experiences, and how they reached the point of acceptance in their covert stuttering journey. Come see that you are not alone in this great opportunity to learn about covert stuttering!

NSA Connects is designed to bring together the stuttering community to share, learn, and socialize. Each NSA Connects session will be focused on a theme for like-minded people to discuss interesting perspectives on living life as a person who stutters.

Wow, this was great. I wish I had attended, as I have 30+ years experience with covertly stuttering. Thank you to both of you for sharing your stories.

My speech is far worse then anyone I have ever heard. It absolutely sucks, but I learned not to care about what others think about me. It is so hard to live with.

I have only just discovered the term ‘covert’ stutterer and realised I’ve suffered most of my life. Most people I know would not know I suffer from this as I put so much energy into hiding / changing words and never quite being able to express myself properly. I constantly live in fear of certain words and remove myself from situations where those words would arise.

It is hard for me to listen to others with this issue.
