I know this video is 2 years old but god damn that’s the best BT I’ve ever seen, such incredible work

I haven’t got the patience to go through all of this for one model, but this is the gold standard right here

This black templar is what I imagine someone who's fought years and years against tyranids, chaos and orcs to look like. I really appreciate how you did something completely different with the armor. I think it looks fantastic and captures very well that black doesn't look pitch black anymore after it's banged up grimy from years of war.

I really liked the Blood Angel but this one is even better in every way!

I love how you show off the process on the shoulderpads ... too often people expect to start painting with the perfect plan.

like this style of painting as it gives the look of what a space marine would really look like in all types of environments. I would really like to see you try this method with a Imperial Fists.

I know this is a 40k channel, but man, the Grimdark painting approach is PERFECT for Battletech! I wish I'd seen this ages ago, so I could make my Inner Sphere mechs look like the ancient, beaten-up war machines they were always supposed to be.

I would love to see your grimdark version of Imperial Fists

Doesn't read as black but does read as fucking awesome. Great work.

How about grim dark Dark Angels, their cream armour!

As well as the fantastic paint job, I really appreciate the encouragement you give the painters who are watching. It gives me that extra motivation to just sit down and paint!

For some bizarre reason I never watched the blood angel video, but I really like this approach. I don’t feel that this reads that black in my eyes, but the result really is beautiful. I wonder if toning down the highlight to basically end around dark reaper might be an idea. Thank you for all this inspiration!

Honestly, that tabard is probably my favorite piece of cloth I've ever seen on a mini and is the first thing to draw my eye looking at the finished piece. I'm excited to try that method on some future projects.

Brilliant mate, This really helps as the scheme I have is much darker and this applies so well compared to the blood angels one, even though the concept is the same. thanks mate :)

I was one of the comments you screen capped. Thank you very much. Your method is great, saved me from a false start. I was contemplating starting with hull red, rather than a mahogany. 👍🏻

I loved this style for the Blood Angel and I love it for this. Black is always a tricky to do and I have to say I really like how you've done it. I mentioned in the live stream that coloured highlights on black are great for suggesting an environment and you nailed it with the blue hightlights and snowy base. He really looks like he's spent years crusading in the snowy wastes.
