This is wrong. The study showed quite clearly they were Scandinavian. 97% of them. The ones who had admixture were from neighboring indo European regions like the Baltics. Hardly diverse. Secondly the claim of Asian gene flow into Scandinavia, this is distorted. The publisher knows the the general population who doesn’t study this subject wouldn’t know better. That “Asian” gene flow is from 3, 000 BC and he’s mistaken to call it Asian. It’s from Ukraine from the steppe pastoralists who are the main ancestors of Scandinavians and most Europeans. They carried some Anatolian farmer dna. This is the “Asian” gene flow he’s referring to. They weren’t Asians like people imagine. The publishes know this and distorts it to make it seem as if there was recent gene flow from Asia shortly before the Viking age. This is just not true. Honestly it’s quite concerning to see so many outlets and people who don’t understand this subject running wild with this stuff.
