Nothing more permanent than a temporary repair that works

Brilliant idea of using multitool to remove old glazing putty! I was trying to do it with a variety of tools, but you gave me a good idea re multitool. Thanks

I'm a builder but nearly retired at 67. I bought a multi tool last year as thy are far more common now. They are amazing for restoration work on woodwork. You can do repairs that would have been very difficult if not impossible before.

To remove putty, just find some errant children and leave them nearby. They will inevitably spot it and start picking it off. That's what we used to do in our masionette in Glasgow back in the 80s..the council would fit new windows and all the kids would pick the putty out to use as home made play-doh and the glass panes would fall out. 🤣

Be careful. I’ve done remodels of homes with that style of window and a lot of the time the caulking contains asbestos

Wow I learnt so many handy tips in such a short time! Especially about being able to snap perspex after scoring :)

Watching, I immediately subscribed.
Multi-tool, means I can do all the work in situ, and not need to remove the window, Bonous.
Also, Mastic in a tube?, I will look for this one.
Cramer profiling tools is a must! Buy this friends, it was my gamechanger! 💜🇨🇦

Reminds me of that “how to repair a window” by sir Richard stillgoe

Used to hold the panes in with some panel pins before puttying

I tried cutting perspex once, what a pain.

That piece of acrylic is worth more than the entire window frame.

I'd replace the job lot with the perspecs. Less likely to break than glass and easier to clean up if it does.

As a fan of your YouTube channel..
I look forward to your video of how you fixed up the outside of your shed to match the new perspex.
