Hi Doug,
I currently live in Philly, I’ve seen this beautiful ghost of a ship on a weekly basis. I would be sorry to see it leave. I believe it would be a wonderful to see her return back to the sea and be part of something good to become an artificial reef. Doug if you have ever seen the ship close up, it’s amazing but dying an agonizing death.

You mentioned MSC filming a series. I don't know if you're interested, but on BritBox, they just debut a series called Good Ship Murder. I looked it up and it was filmed on MSC Virtuoso.

Mornin' Doug! In lieu of someone stepping up to plate with "boatload" of cash to restore the USS United States and set it up as floating hotel, the artificial reef idea seems like a plausible one. I hate to see it end up on the bottom, but that's still better than a breaking yard.

Since The SS United States is a gutted shell inside now with it furnishings removed, I think it’s time for her to take one last trip to sea to perform her final duty and become an artificial reef, what a fitting tribute to her legacy to be a home for the creatures of the sea she once so proudly sailed on.

The grand ocean liner has been derilict for years. Im sure she was a great vessel for many voiages, but i think Floridas' plan would be a fitting end of service. Let her give herself back to the ocean she sailed for so long.
