The Lovers and Hermes and Me! Venus Square Mars

Today we will look at one of this week's major aspects, which is the square perfecting between Venus and Mars. I'll share five ways of interpreting this combination given that Mars is in the superior position, both planets are in signs of Mercury, and Mercury is retrograde.

Two of the mutable squares are super interesting because they are ruled by the same planets (Gemini and Virgo Mercury, Pisces and Sagittarius Jupiter). It seems to create less tension than other squares (like a fixed square with Scorpio or a cardinal square with Aries is super different). Even a square between Pisces and Gemini can be painful because it’s the mind and heart not meeting. But Virgo square Gemini is a blade sharpening a blade, they both challenge each other with different mental perspectives. Virgo challenges Gemini to be more grounded and methodical, and Gemini challenges Virgo to see things from a broader bird’s eye view and consider more perspectives. Sagittarius and Pisces similarly challenge each other on spiritual wisdom, Sagittarius through honoring experience and culture, Pisces through honoring intuition and mystical subtleties. The fact that this transit is happening just after a Pisces full moon and significant Jupiter transit, and Mercury retrograde incoming, it really speaks to this growth that the mutable signs are experiencing right now. I feel the Libran / Air quality of Venus is growing from this position in Mercury ruled Virgo, while there is a comfort in Virgo bringing out that Taurean side of Venus, that Earth. It’s a place where mental stimulation or “sparring” mentally can bring a tone of sensual grounding / expression.

My daughter just had unexpected emergency surgery where an incision was made in her perfectly beautiful tummy that potentially saved her life. She has to heal but having a hard time dealing with the cut (mars) in her perfectly flat beautiful (Venus) tummy.

#grabbed We had a meeting this week at the clinic where I work. (Acupuncture, massage, reiki, hypnotherapy, therapeutic yoga, health coaching.) in our discussion we all discusses how business has been. Someone that joined our team recently was acknowledging her business isn't really taking off. (Cue me with natal Mercury in Sag) I suggested that maybe she was charging too much...(she's charging $21 more per service than acupuncture and massage and her field arguably requires much less overhead, training, etc. ) I did see it in a kind way, because I did trade with her and my session was very powerful, I acknowledged her value and yet I think the words cut, I'd been thinking it awhile and I wasn't going to say anything, but alas I got #grabbed. We had a discussion afterwards and she has no hard feelings. This has actually cued her to shift her focus on what she wants to do professionally, (This girl has many skills) So all in all not horrible, but uncomfortable.

My kiddo (Aqua rising) just started at a new arts-based school (we got in by lottery), and now I am looking sort of obsessively for housing closer to the school (Venus in Virgo ruling third house of neighborhood). My kiddo is also VERY OPINIONATED about both the housing and the move. I suspect this won’t resolve until later in the month 😅, so I am trying to be patient.

I couldn’t help thinking about the whole #NotMyKing thing happening in the UK, where police are coming down pretty heavy-handedly and arresting small numbers of people protesting against the automatic proclamation of their new monarch. Some of the reaction to hearing about this is to question how happy they are with the institution of monarchy altogether. It’s no storming of the Bastille, but interesting with the space weather right now.

Mars in Gemini squaring Venus in Virgo: A talkative Dharma buddy and I are traveling to a monastery in the near future. He asked me to arrange it. I did. All well and done, I thought, until today, when he calls and says he wants to change the plans. He wants to make more than one interview appointment, etc. I did the Venus thing, and said that I am not up to it (I am oh so happy to sit tight and let things be :)), but he may orchestrate away! I love delegating!
