How Xbox Could Respond To Sony's PS5 Plan in 2021

Sony's CFO revealed that the PS5 is going to continue to focus on AAA games and supporting their studios to do their best work as well as several other points in a recent presentation. However I have to wonder how Xbox could answer back so today I decided to have some fun and speculate.

You make a great point Destin. Microsoft doesn't need to sell us on Xbox, (as we're already fans), but they need to sell to gamers who aren't already part of the Xbox ecosystem.

I just got my Xbox series S yesterday to update my living room gaming. It’s pretty amazing how fast it is to my old Xbox VCR. I’m more excited to what Bethesda has to offer soon.

As for Sony, I’m excited but I have no idea when I’ll be able to get one.

Xbox just needs too stay the course. Over the next 2 years as the exclusives roll, and they keep adding onto what they are already doing, that's where they win. For me they have nothing else too prove they have hit everything, I just need the damn Series X

Paraphrasing Destin.... Will Sony run Last of Us on XBox environment? Heck no! Should XBox run the upcoming AAA IPs from Bethesda and the other great acquired Developers on PS5? *HECK NO* ! They are already doing something like that on Perfect Dark. Let's increase the numbers of the users on Xbox ecosystem by offering exclusive stuff on Gamepass! This is the future! Hey Destin! I think that Xbox should focus on more AAA titles (which clearly through the recent acquisitions, they are), however if there are two platforms that both host 3rd party games, and one of those platforms has a subscription services where numerous third party games are included in a subscription service, I'd go with that platform everytime.

I stay in Africa and alot of people I've asked about xbox always say there's no reason to get one. Really hope Microsoft pulls through and brings out games that will sort of level the field for both consoles where I stay.

If Sony wants to compete in the South East Asia market, they gotta make some gamepass alternatives. We already pay 31% - 51% more on hardware and games. Now that the games are 70$, this ain't gonna cut it.
Also tip to xbox, introduce xcloud only gamepass for a little low in India (like Netflix did with mobile-only plan) and expect for subscriber count to boom, with proper advertisement of course.

Constructive criticism... I think you shouldn't worry so much about how long the video is. You comment a lot on how you ramble or how long you talk for, if you didn't do that and just stuck to your thoughts and topics then I think your videos would be packed full of info but still bit size and not rambly.

Let's be honest. Sony's strategy is based around big tent pole exclusive games and they have to follow the same formula to these games as they really can't afford to have flops. That is why they have fewer big releases each year which is their bread and butter. On the other side, Microsoft has been quietly getting their top tier exclusives ready and once they drop, it will nullify the one advantage Sony has. Game Pass and the fact that all future exclusives are there from day one for a low monthly fee is an unbeatable combo. Sony won't be leading this generation, Xbox is already gaining ground. In fact, Sony has already stumbled badly and are trailing behind
