When you compare Godzilla to the golden gate bridge (im fairly sure thats the name) He seems to be smaller then the Kaiju from Pacific rim who attack the same bridge.

Maybe it is aka Muto= and the mad scientist decided to name it Rodan later in the movie because that fuckin flying monster definitely looks like Rodan!!!
