How to create a partition in Linux Mint computer ?

When I go into the program "Disks", and then click on the little gear icon (Additional Partition Options), "Resize" is gray, not black. Therefore, I'm unable to go into the resize option. Any ideas?

So you basically need a separate usb with linux mint to create a partition on a drive where linux mint is already installed. Basically no way to create partition with linux mint installed on the drive

It worked, but I had to do things a little different. My computer didn't automatically go into the boot menu with the USB boot drive plugged in. I had to hit the Escape button after turning on the computer to get to the boot menu. There was no "default" option. I think I selected something like Linux Mint compatibility mode.
I think I could change the settings to get it to automatically boot from USB if I wanted to.

So there is no way to create a partition WITHOUT a USB drive? I need to partition my harddrive to save some files while I install a new version that is already on my flash drive, and I don't have a second one. Linux is not recognizing my flash drive, just the new version of Linus on it, so I cannot save now. This is stupid.

You have to Boot With USB to resize it.
