Fighting Forced Evictions: An NGO Workshop and Cambodian Community Guide

10 minute documentary focusing on three NGOs efforts to fight forced evictions. The short doc highlights and workshop and community guide that have been created to give the power back to the people. The video was directed, shot, and edited by Todd Brown and commissioned by Bridges Across Borders Southeast Asia, Council on Housing Rights and Evictions, and International Accountability Project.

This is a good project. Rural people lack education and knowledge. They have no idea what their rights are as the citizens of a country. Their lives are at the mercy of authorities of their region. When those authority people corrupt, working together with greedy selfish businessmen, they will come up with lots of reasons (faked governmental projects) for the local people to leave behind their properties and move away with very little or no compensation, and when the locals are gone, they(the authority and their partner businessmen) turn the local's properties into their own. That's exactly what happened in Myanmar and thousands of people lost their family properties they owned for generations.
