The rise and cost of Ireland’s the anti-migrant movement

Ireland's Taoiseach has used a speech to the Irish diaspora in the US, to highlight that St Patrick - who is celebrated every March 17th - was a 'single, male, undocumented migrant'. Immigration protests have become a major thorn in Leo Varadker's side, dominating politics in cities, towns and villages.

Much of the anger is linked to the struggle for housing, in a country where rent and property prices are among the highest in Europe. But there are fears that parts of the anti-migrant movement are being infiltrated by social media influencers, who are inflaming tensions further.

There's a reason the people aren't consulted because they would vote "NO".

Why don't you report on the immigrant rape gangs in the UK or the fact that Irish women and children are 278 times more likely to have sexual violence committed against them than in 2013 ? Or are you racist towards Irish and English people ?

I’m Polish and living in Ireland since 2010. It’s absolutely heartbreaking what the government has done to this once so peaceful and free from scumbags country. It’s so hard to rent any house or apartment these days and they bring them here and give everything for free while Irish people have to wait for social housing years and years. They abusing and using the law. And Garda… why aren’t you standing with your own? Where is your backbone?

Let the Irish people decide whether they want mass immigration through a referendum.

If you immigrate to a foreign country you should change, adapt and play by THEIR rules, period. Not the other way around.

“Anti immigrant” is better described as the Irish simply demanding they get to keep their own land and culture.

It’s ridiculous that the Irish is treated ssooo poorly and these immigrants have more privileges My lord this is ridiculous Ireland is for the Irish and let them have their word since they know what’s happening and what’s needed for them. (Love from Australia 🇦🇺)

How in the world can mass illegal immigration work in any country without destroying the country? Resources are finite.

'13, 000 asylum seekers arrived mainly through Ireland's airports'. How, if they had no passport?

There is nothing wrong with being proud of your culture, ancestors and history, wanting future generations to know who and what they are, the fact that Western politicians are trying to impose on you that it is racism is their problem, you have the right to preserve your country and culture on the way you choose, whoever doesn't like it doesn't have to live there, in this case Ireland - the land of the Irish and others! Greetings from Serbia🇷🇸

Most are not from the Ukraine, the vast majority are from other non war torn country's, they are not fleeing war, the majority are single army age men, undocumented.
