S.C.I.E.N.C.E is one of my all time favorite albums. The bass is amazing and the whole album is incredible. Incubus was not the same after he left, still good, just less experimental and more mellow.

As awesome as this is, what I loved most about Dirk’s work was his super subtle stuff that was almost hidden in the mix. He was amazing at slides and really deep non-root-note harmonizing that added so much sophistication and feel.

I’m so glad Dirk pointed out the back of the hand mute, cus I’ve been doing that for years thinking it wasn’t a proper technique. Ironically, Redefine was one of the songs I tried it out on to get the speed! 😂 Dirk is THE MAN!

Dirks sound was so ridiculous good. I sold my whole gear collection to duplicate what he had going on. Eden amps/cabs and a streamer stage 2 five string. I’ve since moved on but I still feel that was my GAS epiphany . I’ve never had a sound with all of the combinations of basses and cabinets that has sounded better. And to those who’ve said Incubus was not never as good after he left, I agree! The original recipe was tweaked
