How green politicians and 'civil society' sold Britain's democracy

Alok Sharma, MP for Reading West, UK secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy, and president-designate of the upcoming UN Climate Change gave a talk at the Green Alliance last month.

In his talk, Sharma talked up the role of "civil society" organisations such as the Green Alliance, in holding governments and businesses to account.

But isn't that the public's job? In a democracy, isn't it the voter who decides what governments' agendas should be?

This is a short video -- the first of many -- about the bizarre and corrupt politics of climate change, in which "civil society", big business, and governments serve themselves, rather than the public.

Don't use these noises in your editing please. Nobody wants to try to hear your comment over these noises.

I leave the video at 2:48. This noise is just unbearable to my ears.
