In Episode 19, I review projects 251-265 from the ongoing Helsinki Museum of Architecture Competition. This batch wasn’t the strongest, with some decent entries but no standout submissions. As always, I share my thoughts as an Architect, diving into design choices, concepts, and presentation.

Can we all just agree that green roofs is just “greenwashing”? If anything they are just tons of plastic layers prone to breaking and will probably just shorten the buildings lifespan

259 -- the first "ramp and a swoop and you turn around to look at the sea (on a grass roof)" but to have it as a COUNTER-clockwise swoop!

Bit of a nothing set of 15, occupying the 2/10 to 6.5/10 range as you put it, I don't mind/appreciate the faster tempo you went through these.

Do you think that often judges might take like careful look to the first entrances and then after a point just start doing it quick? Maybe they just understand the standards? How is your experience?

I think 261 is a good scheme; but we can't tell much from the limited views on show

I liked number 264 not because it was practical or seemed doable at al, but because it made me laugh.
