Response to the 'co2 is plant food' and 'Earth is greening' climate change denial arguments

This video responds to those who say carbon emissions are not a bad thing because "co2 is plant food" and the "Earth is getting greener". We examine the science of what rising temperatures and climate change will actually mean for global agricultural production.

From what I gather from elsewhere, the 'crops' you refer to are ones that have historically been adapted by man to suit their environment (i.e. with lower CO2 levels than now) at the time. Most plants evolved naturally thousands/millions of years ago when CO2 levels were FAR higher than today, so it can be said that they will be better suited to current higher levels. So, it would be simply a matter of us readapting crops to suit, as we have clearly done before.
The rest of what you say sounds like quibbling to me, esp. as data shows no increase in natural events & even claims of further rises in temp are very much disputed - much more likely that the good will far outweigh the bad.

coral reef and Scleractinia have 240 million years of history, 2000 ppm co2

If you look at the actual study this nutrient decrease is over blown and the benefits of increased yields and greening of our rainforests and deserts far out way a slight decrease in nutrients. The study used projected 2050 lvs of co2 so something like 550 ppm. No crop showed even a 10% reduction with most right around 5% reduction for the 6 crops tested. Some crops showed little to no decrease and some increases in cetain nutrients. Global malnutrition can be better linked to an overall lack of food period. So would you rather have plenty of food that is slightly less nutrient dense or have a 1/4 or 1/8 ration of corn that is average 5% more nutrient dense?

"Climate change deniers". Sounds like a religious zealot to me.

How did the coral survive when the atmosphere contained 2000 - 7000 ppm of CO2? Was the ocean acid? Or did the coral thrive?

So you cited a study that looks at possible future effects of elevated CO2. But what are the current worldwide effects of elevated CO2 on agriculture? Is there a measured decrease in the nutrition provided by agriculture? What are the benefits to current agriculture? Is there a measured increase in agricultural output due to our emission of CO2? I think you know that there is.

I only found this now! This is amazing, thank you very much for such an insightful video! Please create more of those. Just subscribed, too :)

You have not demonstrated whether co2 drives temperature or does temperature drive co2
From the last thousand years, they’ve been independent

Watch the testimony of Don Easterbrook in Washington state.
Your video will fall flat on its face.
The arrogance of mankind Is overwhelming thinking we have anything to do with climate or weather.
I like Joanne Nova's take on the climate too.
Spend some time with Tony Heller's videos.

If we manage to push our number to less than a billion we've done nothing wrong.
The planet will be fine. We're just currently too numerous due to our ingenuity.

Depressed. I am reading the comments to your video mostly negative and still touting the positive effects of CO2.
we are doomed; scientist are screaming at them that we need to change coarse very quickly and stop
with fossil fuels and they don't listen and reply with nonsense. I really liked your video by the way.
