Metrolink 935 | Broken Horn???

Показать описание
Here we see a Northbound Metrolink train led by engine 935. I'm not 100% sure, but the horn appears to be broken along with a possible light problem. This train will also appear in Part 2 of "Riverside Railfanning" which will be out soon!

Please enjoy watching! I plan on making these videos regular on my channel, as well as Plane Spotting videos and the occasional cat video!

What you're hearing here is the #2 bell cutting in and out. The F125s have K2H horns using bells 2 and 4; the higher pitched bell is the 4, while the lower pitched bell (the one that;s cutting in and out) is the 2. I don't know why, but the roof K2s are the only ones that do this and often times the 2 is dead altogether. I think it's caused by excessive air pressure

I guess the horn can't determine which tuning sounds worse...

That’s K2 roof horn. I like it better than the coupler horn a lot

For a channel of your size, this quality is amazing!

I don't know if the horn really is broken or if it was the emergency horn. I say this because in Canada, several railway companies have emergency horns on their locomotives, which are louder than the base horns, and can only be applied in case of some imprudence.

I'm pretty sure they have fixed it now. I think I remember seeing it while railfanning.

0:22 The Doppler sounded at 0:22 so how did it do it again if the train already passed at 0:28?

Edit: i believe it was the sound of the horn bouncing off of other nearby buildings

That’s weird the tuning of the K2 changes on the fly.

i think the ditchlights are the only thing that's broken on the locomotive. not the horn

im pretty sure the f125 have two horns, the main horn is the k2 and the secondary horn is a k3h, or k3l

The usual horn on these are P5s. The f125s' have switches in their upper switchbox, one of them allows you to use a different "back up horn". It is a K3LA. He had it set in this video.

Hey mab, I noticed that your video was shot in 1080p50, I have seen one other railfanner use a 50 fps camera. I was wondering what camera/camcorder you used to shoot this video?
