Most all the Christian "holy" sites were "found" by Conatantines mother, Helena. She relied on folk tradition. In the case of Nazareth, all she found was a well, which was called "Mary's well". That is when this village began to be built. No archaeological proof it existed before then. To me that throws doubt on all her sites. She also "found" pieces of the "true cross", etc. If the Bible is true, the exact location is unimportant, compared to the message.People desperately try to find the "real" place so they can prove the Bible.

Notice the ladder at 1:33 it has been there since 18th century and is a pretty good proof of the tension between all the religious orders in Jérusalem.

I'm Atheïst and I'm quite ashamed of all these ignorant people claiming Jesus did not exist or this couldn't possibly be his tomb.

You got to take the miacles like walking on water with a hefty amount of salt though.

Note, that just because todays shrine is apparently the same as in Constatines time, that does not prove that it really is the site of the original tomb, nor that the Jesus persona is real.

I wish the transition between videos/ slides were not that fast. It was difficult to read fast while trying to view the video.

Now if only they had a single mention of this guy that wasn't dated 30 years after his supposed death.

Jesus was a real person, he even had a brother...any proper historian will tell you this. The being said, not seeing his body is a good thing. Because he rose again. And if he didn't...

you came here to see a rotted bunch of bones.

It's so sad to see how many people are against Jesus, & how many have turned their backs against Christ.

That's nice to know that this is, indeed, as we thought, the place that was designated as Jesus time in Constantine's times. But you can't call it Jesus's tomb in all seriousness because you don't have any proof of that.

If you don’t believe this please don’t post a hate comment. It’s really disrespectful

What if Christ's body is discovered, how would people know it's him and not someone else.

Constantine was never a born again believer and the tomb of Jesus according to St. John chp 19 says Jesus died outside of the city and not too far away was a borrowed tomb which belonged to Arramathias and together with Nicodemus they ask for the body of Jesus and took it to the Tomb and the rock which was a flat bolder was sealed then closed, the seal belonged to Rome, it was waxed poured into it with a ribbon in the wax. this newly found tomb of Jesus is located in old Jerusalem and Jesus was never buried in old Jerusalem according to St.John 19. It's all a lie to promote there own tourist attraction.

Has anyone else noticed how National Geographic has been talking about biblical characters as real historical figures for the last year or two?

You mean the purported tomb of Christ. No one knows where he was buried. That is if he even lived at all. No one knows when he supposedly died. No one knows when he was supposedly born. No one knows where he was supposedly born. No one who knew him ever wrote a single word about him. No one alive at the same time ever wrote a single word about him.Yeah, makes perfect sense.

The CE 137 date is misleading. At that time the Jesus character was primarily still just a celestial entity (as taught by Paul). It wasn't until members of Constantine's family (called "Delegation" in this video) "discovered" the site that the religious have venerated and declared it another holy relic. If you study the only details we have for the death of this Jesus character, they contradict so wonderfully that we can't be certain of the date at all: if Mark and the copies (Matthew and Luke) are correct about the date and year then John is wrong. Both story lineages can't be right because both reference different calendar years by events that are irreconcilable.
