"A man's game charges a man's price". Such a badass line!

Only Woody can make pissed off and calm work together so well.

Marty sees himself is those two boys, and it disgusts him.

Season 1 feels like I'm watching real life. The acting and aura/vibe is flawless. Great dramatic performance for a guy who usually does comedies.

I worked security in clubs and pubs for 5 years and marty's acting is spot on. The controlled calm rage are the most dangerous guys, they mean to do harm. The idiots who yell and swear are all show.

One of the greatest single seasons in television history. Woody Harrelson and Matthew Mccougnhey we’re both amazing. Direction and writing were brilliant also.

First guy got off light cuz he stepped out. Guarantee that second guy got it much worse cuz Marty had to go inside and get him.

Watching this seen brought back that feeling of anxiety that you have when you know you're about to get a whooping from your parents.

Kid: I think you're a little angry right now.
Marty: You're telling me how I feel ... that's patronizing...

"Imma go make my rounds...i'll check back witcha in about twenty minutes". That guard knew Marty was gonna beat their asses and gave him a solid 10 with each of em

Anyone else here believe Marty was just as complex of a character as Rust?

The pure adulterated rage in his eyes as he walks towards the second guys is palpable. That is fine acting. I wonder what he was thinking of to invoke that kind of anger. I’d be genuinely nervous if I was the other actor.

As good a Woody’s acting is, the boys matched it. Believable.

One things fans never bring up is the clothing. That Pantera shirt (Far Beyond Driven debuted #1 when it came out) or Marty's Division Bell tour shirt are just perfect for a show set in 1995.

Slow.
Methodical.
The way Woody delivers is nothing short of amazing.
Beautiful scene

Why cut the part of Marty vomiting? This was important to understand his disgust of his own actions.

"A man's game charges a man's price, take that away from this, if nothing else"... Brilliant writing!!! "Please, I'm sorry, pla-pla-pla- please"... The two boys did a truly excellent job looking scared shitless, and Woody's portrayal was stellar, as always. I want to bring back Marty and Rust!!!

You cut the best part, where Marty goes out to his car afterwards and vomits. To me, this is a true significant definition of his character trait. Not only does it subtly show how brutally he beat those boys up that he made himself sick but it shows him releasing what he was before. His masculinity is tested throughout the entirety of the show. And it’s finally out through the ultimate test when he has to do what a man is supposed to do which is keep himself and his family safe. When he finally has the chance to do so he does it in the only way he can express it, he does what he thinks a man would do he seizes the opportunity and goes through with it only to have his ego boil up inside of him, expel and dissolve. It’s like he’s vomiting up the toxins of what made his character before, the last of his own toxic behavior spewing out onto the parking lot of the police station. He changes so much after this scene.
