Instead of adding all that bloatware, they should offer a stripped down version of windows that lets me run my apps and doesn't spy on me or tell me how it wants me to do things.

The PIN breaking feature is a touch of genious. Being greated with "Pin is no longer available on this device" is always a great way to start the day. Why waste your time doing work when you can spend that time reinstalling Windows? They are adding shit like "AI" and messing with icons when the core OS is buggy as hell.

I began using Windows 11 Professional extemporaneously with my new Dell [keyboard] which is my microcomputer that works well like a powerful typewriter, and the operating system is a bit friendlier to use, especially when I need to see more than one file or document from different programs. I was hooked on Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, and subsequently stuck on Microsoft XP Professional that I did not want to change software, nor hardware. All Microsoft has to do is keep Publisher as an application with the rest of the applications in the Office bundle, and everything will be great. How many times does Microsoft need to replace software that has already been pre-improved?

Finally some new energy saving features. I have a new HP Victus but HP doesn’t offer it.

One thing I noticed in the sudo command part was I turned on the "End task in taskbar by right click" in settings Didn't know I had that on my current PC's .... So thanks for that.

is unlikely that the old processors will be blocked by the instruction, a lot of programs include multiple code paths that are used if the system has the capabilities, I doubt Microsoft will enforce a code path, breaking boot, and if that was the case, because the ISO is available, a lot of people should be showing how it fails, but there is no one doing it

Get rid of the AI feature, not everyone is lazy and wants everything done for them..

Why isn't co-pilot an option? We are not minions that all want the same damn thing! How about making file explorer less crash prone. It does start right back up at least but if I am doing work in file explorer for any length of time it does crash.

Energy saver give me a break. This comming from the same people thinking of high effeient cloths washers. Ya right the old big washers I could do one wash with lots of water and wash more cloths which means use less energy for one wash. Now I have to do 3 washes using more energy and more water to get the same ammount of cloths washed. Same thing goes for PC's The faster the PC the faster I can get my work done. The more energy saving the more time it takes to get work done and uses more energy in the long run vs a burst of energy to get the job done faster. All the efforts to fight climate change is just make climate change worse not better. EV's for example those fast chargers for EV's one fast charger uses the same ammount of energy 1000 homes use in a month an EV fast charger uses in an hour. Thats 1000 times worse not better!.

I don't see any great new features in 24H2 that you need in everyday life. just a few small modifications. I don't want AI integrated into my operating system. Microsoft just wants to grab more of your data to sell it. I still have Windows 11 installed on a Thinkpad but haven't turned it on since October 2023. I started with Windows 95 in the 90s. I am a senior web developer. I now work on Linux for private and business purposes every day. Much faster and the workflow is also a lot better. The best thing about it is, that nobody steals my data and sells it. I also adapted it to my needs, which is not possible on Windows.

I really hate how Windows 11 looks and feels, I have to use it on my work laptop but I'll stay on Windows 10 for private computing atleast until support stops, or Windows 12 drops and it looks and feels better.

Microsoft is a pain as it’s causing people to dump older pc’. Not user friendly for older people that may not be ‘whizz kids’. It’s just taken mme 3 days to get my second touch screen to work. Goodness knows how Did but have been using Windows since Windows 3.1. I’m 76 years old and I hear so many older people that are terrified of computers. Microsoft goes too fast. I’ve used Windows 10 since it came out and just got use to it and then Windows 11.
Unfortunately most of my windows computers despite having tpm will have to be scrapped due to not being compatible processor wise. Why hasn’t Microsoft created a version of windows that will run on slightly older machines as not everyone can rush out and buy the latest gear and can’t afford too. I’ve just bought a Geekom IT11 for running my Hauptwerk/church organ setup and it came with Windows 11 pro. Quick to set up until touch driver chose to ignore my second touch monitor. Why can’t Microsoft actually get one operating system right before releasing a new one. It probably boils down to money. I did try Linux but too complicated for my older brain.
