Is Video Blocks and Audio Blocks Worth The Subscription?

The problem that I'm finding with AudioBlocks is every piece of music I've used from them gets flagged by YouTube. It's a real pain in the butt.

FYI, I am having an issue with VideoBlocks. I signed up for VideoBlocks expecting one thing and got another. When I asked for a refund, they threw a crappy refund policy at me even though I never used the service. I have used several video services and the ones I have used have been very helpful if I wasn't happy. Why would VideoBlocks try to force me to use their service when I explained that I haven't used it and I don't want to. Is my $200 that important? I will keep you posted on the resolution.

How does it work legally though? I'm not really concerned about sound effects, but rather the music tracks. Can you just use it as background music for YouTube videos plain and simple, or do you need to site credit, or something else? And is it not allowed for monetized videos? Just wondering how the rules there work.

I used this site years ago, but it's totally not worth it now. As eLearningMind noted below, the subscription (which is now $149 per year), you get NOTHING of value. You'll find a LOT of quality videos with high additional fees, but nothing good included with your subscription. At the time of this video review, it was a good site and I used it.

There are many other sites out there that give a much better collection of footage, some with a subscription, others with a much lower per-file fee.

Also, even the $89 fee quoted for audio is pretty high. Audio is usually much less expensive than video. When I was first a member of Videoblocks, the audio was included. They got greedy, separated it out, and started charging for both.

Finally, another item that makes them a scam: Your subscription is automatically rebilled annually. If you attempt to turn of the automatic renewal, you will not be able to use the site for the remainder of your paid time.

I've hit a wall with them. Copyright flag on every song lately. Add to that the lack of new music - I'm letting my subscription die at the end...

I love VideoBlocks, I am looking at using audio blocks too, I love the simplicity of a one of payment for a year and getting access to everything, are there any other music sites that do this, all the other ones I have seen charge per song, and using on TV pushes the price up into the hundred per song?

Audioblocks is decent, but be very careful because their business model is based on renewing suscriptions without sending out emails or warning people. AND YOU CAN'T GET A So look out for that. Aside, from that, the music selection is generic, but if you spend the time you can find some hidden gems.

Also, how come it's impossible to find the price of the subscription on their site??

Buyer beware. We've been members for 3 years and are cancelling because they no longer offer quality videos for your $99 membership. Being a paying member gets you nothing but a gateway into a site that charges $49 for any decent video there. I have purchased duplicate videos at a competing photo site (not named so I can't be accused of working for them) at 1/3 the price. No kidding. Duplicate videos. We've used VB for 3 years, but are turning to other sources that are more upfront in their pricing. Now to be fair, we produce corporate marketing and training videos. If corporate video is not your thing, maybe VB is a good choice. No longer for us.

Let’s talk video blocks experience. The footage they offer for the subscription service is mediocre and further more even after I had no intention to pay second year, renewal began by itself and they don’t accept a refund even if I ask immediately. Just a legal scam, nothing more
