"These do have a pretty squishy butt" I love how you went out of your way to acknowledge, and display, the squishiness of a bug's butt, which nobody was asking about the squishiness of lol

It was cute though

Hearing you say "twerking on the soil" unironically woke me up

Hi there, life long Oregonian here, I have collected, kept and bred RB’s over the years. They will bite, very uncommon, but they will. They do not strike they just sort of casually latch onto you and chew a little. I spent time in the early 90’s helping Richard Hoyer with field research, learned a lot from that excellent man.

I mentioned this before, but I love your polarized vocabulary. You managed to put the genus species of a bug and “twerking” in the same paragraph and sound professional. 😂

One day, when I retire, I'd love to make nature exploring a common hobby. I appreciate your respect of the wildlife you encounter. This was a fun and educational video. Thanks!

The cricket was kind of freaky until you called it a potato bug, then it became cute

musk snakes are such divas, usually harmless and great actors

Hearing you give all of these facts about rubber boas in a serious tone and then hearing "poop snake" in the same sentence has been cracking me up.

This has the vibe of spontaneously feeling productive late at night, so instead of sleeping you entertain intelligence and knowledge.

Love these videos. The U.S is so vast with an amazing variety of wildlife comparatively to the U.K.

That Western Longwing Katydid almost looks like it was carved out of stone

I use to go up into the southern mountains in Montana and catch these as a kid. Very friendly snakes. Not one to keep in captivity, but they would be happy to wrap around your wrist and just hang out there all day.

I had no idea that the Rubber snake or poop snake existed! It's a cute little guy too, and looks like their skin is too big for them. I also like the fact that it's so chill when you pick it up. It's be a nice snake to have as a pet. But, for beauty I think the gopher snake is by far the winner, the markings on them are insanely beautiful! I also like the wandering Garter snake too, I've never seen one with spots, the only grater snakes I see in my neck of the woods are the ones with yellow and red stripes down the length of their bodies.
