What information, exactly was requested without permission? This game has been out for like a week, and this is the first I've heard of this.

I thought the big Pokemon Go story was the one about the gym inside a police station.

Ingress, which Pokemon GO is based on, has been out for years now so why are we talking about this now? And if Niantic claims that the privacy concerns have been addressed so I don't see the problem. Just fear mongering at this point.
