Behind every great race, is an even greater event team.

This film goes behind the scenes at the 2019 Berghaus Dragon's Back Race® and tells the story through the eyes of the event team. Follow the journey to Conwy Castle and onwards through Wales, as the team ventures to mountain peaks to place check points, moves the event campsite through rural wales, and deals with incidents out on the course. Through all the highs and lows, it’s the dedication, energy and passion of the event team that really brings the race to life, making it a truly memorable and special adventure for all involved.

The legendary Berghaus Dragon’s Back Race® follows the mountainous spine of Wales from north to south. This incredible 5-day journey is 315 kilometres long with 15,500 metres of ascent across wild, trackless, remote and mountainous terrain. It is the toughest mountain race in the world.

The original Dragon’s Back Race® happened in September 1992, and ever since it has been whispered about with a mixture of awe and trepidation. Its reputation had reached legendary status with fell, mountain and ultra runners the world over by September 2012 when the second race took place. With the modern era of races now taking place annually from 2021, the Berghaus Dragon's Back Race® is respected internationally for both its bulletproof organisation and 'toughest mountain race' status.
