Sega Takes Shots at Nintendo Over Fan Games

Sega has fired shots at Nintendo over their response to fan games, such as Project AM2R, on a video showcasing the Sonic fan game Green Hill Paradise Act 2.

SEGA has been encouraging fanmade games for a while now. Look how long SAGE has been going on, and look how involved they are with that.

You know, Nintendo shou drally take a page from SEGA's book and be more open to allowing fan projects anfan remakes of their games and also allowing gamplay to be shown on YouTube cause with nintendo being so set in their ways it actually has hurt them more than anything cause if you look back to the past, their best selling system is the original NES and each successive console after that has gotten fewer and fewer (albeit still selling alright with the original Wii being the anomaly which sold 100 million and even then the motion controls turned out to be a gimmick and interest wained after a period of time). It is mainly because of how Nintendo treats its fanbase (a really good example is the pokemon lauch party scandal that happened at PAX East where the coffee shop employee was sued ot of an undisclosed amount of money and Nintendo lost probably at least 50 fans that day). Now we got the Wii-U (the poorest selling console ever). It is due to very poor marketing where the initial launch ads did not show the console itself; only the tablet controller and the TV and the game being played and displayed on both the tablet controllers screen and the TV screen which really hurt the lauch cause it brought on the confusion of it being a tablet controller add-on to the original Wii and in total i might have seen 6, maybe 8 ads for the Wii-U and that is it (allowing gameplay to be uploaded to YouTube would only have helped the console cause it would have been free advertising and Nintendo fails to see that). I could go on but this comment has already gotten way too long.

I also realize a pattern with Nintendo and taking down fan games.

1. They took down the Pokemon Minecraft mod, and suddenly created a phone app that has 'Cube shaped Pokemon'

2. They took down a Mario Maker like website and also taken down Mario Royale, a couple years later we get Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker 2, which coincidencly has a similar feature to Mario Royale.

It's too suspicious to be a coincidence, hell, look at Mario and the Music box.. tell me, why that hasn't been taken down by Nintendo?

To that i say: great.
Its definitely easy to poke fun at Sega and i think we all know this.
But if Sega starts making quality games, quality Sonic games, changing their attitude for the better then im completely behind them.
