So many cute dogs ;) I've had mini schnauzers & they are great dogs, but they bark a lot! Like many breeds, some are eras when they are more popular. I really like Fox Terriers & it seems like they were very popular in the 1930's.

I adopted a 2 year old Ratcha on August 20. I am blown away at how smart this dog is. I've had a dozen dogs in my life and have never had one this intelligent. I cant believe I got so lucky.

Rat terriers make amazing pets. They are smart, loyal, loving, and great socially.

I guess the key is small, but the welsh terrier is a medium size breed that is a great dog as well.

My favorite is the schnauzer being a farmer Schnauzer owner I know what this breed is capable of prior to that I think mother looks I like a Scotty however I've never owned one so I don't know anything about them .

I just adopted a little terrier 5 months ago and his nose is pink and he has long flappy pink ears lol. and he’s got really bright eyes and he’s super agile! He does flips and sprints all over the place and he can jump up to like 5 times his height. I have no idea what kind of terrier he is but his name is Ozzy

I have had a jack Russell Bedlington boarder Patterdale and a lakeland witch is top of my list . Now i have a airedale terrier ( the king of terrier s).

I only prefer to own the Norwich Terrier & Parson Russell, but the Jack Russell, is the one I HATE.

The rat terrier ancestry is older than the US. The ship's dog on the Mary Rose, "Hatch" was very similar to a modern rat terrier, though basically all brown.
The Mary Rose sank in 1545, and Hatch's skeleton was recovered when they raised the ship's remains in 1971. DNA results said he was an 18-24 month old male, very similar to a cross between what becomes the Jack Russell and a whippet. (Kinda describes the modern rat terrier, IMO 😁), and was described in surviving documents as a ratter (cats were considered evil and were banned from ships, then.)
Probably similar dogs became the Feist which were on "both sides of the pond, " and are an ancestor to the modern rat terrier.

I’m a Westie mom.
The reason they’re white is someone important hunting in the Westhighland hills shot his most beloved dog on accident. He declared from then on, the dogs would be white so he would never again make that mistake.

I should probably google some details, but that’s the message:
They are white because they are loved.


Except LuCy FiRr, who is lucky that she’s cute. Has a dog door, went out one night this summer & got sprayed by a skunk. THEN CRAWLED BACK INTO BED WITH ME AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED.
