From the DVD and the crowd went wild

The biggest, most wonderful surprise was seeing Clive and Harvey on stage together. The night was confronting overall, as we came face to face with our own demographic and how much older we were than back in the wonderful 70s and early 80s, especially as we were all walking away after the concert. Once we were all the "beautiful people" (young and gorgeous) now we were a shaggy bunch of middle aged people from the suburbs whose lives proved much drearier than our adolescent dreams. Sherbet was fabulous, but it was a very short bracket, after a long wait, despite lots of terrific acts, including Leo Sayer. Maybe my own highlight was seeing Molly Meldrum in person, for the first time, as a kid from the country and kind of an opportunity to celebrate such good old days. That night is now tinged with some sadness, as it was not too long after that, we lost Harvey. I also felt for the former members of Skyhooks, having lost Shirl so early. No reunions possible for them or their fans.I did have a fab time and would not have missed it for the world, but it was also a massive reality check, as well as lots of fun and enjoyment! I was at the Melbourne Countdown Reunion.

In those days, the group didn't get a recording contract unless they could perform live! I was so lucky to see so many bands at dances and concerts!

A big hit in the UK in the 70's and I remember It so well, I was a kid aged around 10 years old.. Not sure of the year but I think it was 76? Can anyone tell me what the tune is following.. This is so catchy!

I WELL remember back in the 70's the dispute by FANS, who was the BETTER BAND IN AUSSIE, SHERBET or SKYHOOKS ? today looking back NO matter which band YOU prefered, they WERE BOTH GREAT AUSSIE BANDS.

I liked them in the 70s and 80s but sorry I don't enjoy watching geriatrics trying to capture past buzzes. Retire gracefully
