Dont call it quiet quitting, call it, you get what you pay for.

I think the "quiet" part is you're not supposed to tell your boss XD

I hate to hear about this quiet quitting because I have been doing this for the past 10 years, and to me it was just called “working.” I work, deliver good result, stack up skills and experience, and get my promotion by leaving. I feel like this quiet quitting is some reverse psychology BS from employer and as employee we need to stop calling it as such. It’s not quiet quitting, it’s call healthy working.

The weirdest thing about this is that only now so many people are realising that this is how work for an uncaring employer is supposed to be done.

It's only quiet quitting if you've bought into hustle culture. Any normal person calls that doing there job 😂

Today I learned that I've been quiet quitting my whole life

So he’s becoming an ideal employee. Comes in, works his shift, no drama, finished assigned work on time.

Sounds like just doing the bare minimum. Not slacking enough to get fired, but not pushing yourself to get a raise or a promotion

People here fail to realize that quiet quitting means slowly underperforming yourself until your employer fires you, which means you get benefits from termination unlike during resignation

I'm convinced that quite quitting was originally conceived by massive corporations to shame people for not doing more than what their job is labeled as.

As an employer i ask my employees to not do overtime and to balance work life as much as possible
When we need overtime we make sure to compensate accordingly

Working 8 hour shift (excluding lunch break) is quiet quitting?

Companies must be *crazy* ☠️

After nearly burning out with little to show for it, I now always make sure to act my wage. I'm very much in favor of the new gen insisting on a healthier work-life balance.

This makes sense for salary workers. But I get paid hourly and I’ve made $13000 extra this year in overtime. Lotta taxes paid but still worth it to show I made $60k this year

I've always done bare minimum. Never aspired to anything because doing so is more stressful. I understand that for some people the grind is something they feel they need to do, but I already get paid enough, I work enough, and I do my job with no problems. So I'ma stay nice and comfortable doing it.

If i did "just my job" i'd still get in trouble. My job is making sure that the product goes out as soon as possible after it is made. What i also end up doing is, check the print lists for errors prior to stuff being printed so we have less errors, get product reprinted after someone messed up, track down things that people lost along the way, tell marketing team about the errors they made and need to change and then remember them and look for them on the lists because the website people don't change anything. And i am now expected to help in production because " the company reserves the right to change your job description at any time" and after nearly 3 years of working there, and saving the company lots of money by catching the errors before they are made, i got a write up over a misunderstanding with the owner's best friends son that i had already apologized for even though i don't even know what i did wrong

I started doing this once I realized going above and beyond wasn't getting me anywhere
