Anubis is the god of death, mummification, embalming, cemeteries, tombs and the underworld.
Osiris is the god of the dead, fertility, agriculture, afterlife, resurrection, life and vegetation.

My problem with the telling of Anubis is that it is almost always to either post unification of the two Egypts. He is almost always referred to by the Greek name instead of Anpu or Inpu, his Egyptian names. Also, he is referred to a the son of Osiris (Greek name) or Set/Seth. However, both Set and Osiris are from the Ennead system of beliefs while Anubis is from the Ogdoad where he was the son of Ra. This is why he had the name Inpu(royal child). It was only after the unification where his cult was on the side if the losers that his information was changed to help prop up the majesty of Osiris.
