Why Moldova might soon join Romania !?
With around 3 million people, Moldova is 7 times smaller than Romania in terms of population.
75.1% are Moldovan, 7% are Romanian, 6.6% Ukrainian, 4.6% Gagauz and 4.1% Russian. This demographics are the main reason for the possibility of unification as Romanians and Moldovans have very similar cultures, Romanian being the official language in Moldova.
Also, most of Moldova’s current territory was actually part of Romania until 1944, when this region here called Bessarabia, was annexed by the USSR.
After gaining it’s independence in 1991, the pro-European feelings in Moldova continued to grow. The war in Ukraine only accelerated the distancing of Moldova from Russia and favored the strengthening of relations with Romania, which is both an EU and a NATO member. All of this are making a union between the two countries a very likely event.

Fun fact, Bulgaria was the only Axis country wich kept some of the territory they obtained during the war and that is the Dobrudja region gained from Romania.

I might be wrong on this but Bulgaria claimed that territory as theyres and I think Germany pressured Romania to give it to Bulgaria.
