Moving to a remote cottage in Pembrokeshire, Wales - Vlog 3

Last summer, we moved to a remote cottage in Pembrokeshire, Wales. This is the beginning of that story. It's had ups and downs - a constant balance of freedom and isolation, but I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to live in this corner of the world, and wanted to share it here in a cozy vlog 💕

Because everyone always asks 'How far is your nearest supermarket?' I thought I'd clarify that there are lots of lovely towns around here with shops, restaurants and cafes, but it does take us at least 20 minutes to drive to a shop (not too far at all, really!) and as I'm trying to be more present, I don't film when we go to town, so you won't see that side of things on my vlog.

Just thought I'd mention, after a few comments on the topic, that my partner and I both work remotely (me as a photographer, creating imagery for brands, and Alex works in software). More and more people are finding this kind of lifestyle possible after remote work became more common during/after the pandemic ☺

So happy to have found you. Recently, my darling husband passed unexpectedly, and seeing the two of you so young and in love made me feel happier and hopeful that, with the change of seasons, my life force will gain strength. Glad you invited me.

That last line ‘I’d always like to remember when the feeling of being lost arrives at my door, to trust in the wild places to bring me back to myself. It works every time’ 😍

My gran had a saying, the gist of which was that the difference between living for the little moments and the grand ones is simple. There are bound to be millions of little ones, and only a handful of the grand. We all know the grand ones when they come along, so you don’t have to worry you’ll miss out on them. But true living is embracing all of the small moments. That's where you’re most likely to find yourself. I missed a lot when I was younger, because I was sure that I, the globe trekking, big moment seeking wanderer, had it right. I didn’t. So glad the two of you are living the small, truly extraordinary moments together, and sharing them here as well. Enjoy!

Back during covid, I moved from Wales to the Czech Republic, because that’s where my family lives. Everyday I miss Wales more and more! The nature, the people, Cymraeg as well as the sea. I’m glad that for now I can at least live my dreams through your beautiful videos

As an introvert, I could totally be happy there as long as I had books to read!

I started crying when the cows that were closest to you turned their heads up so they could face you, and at the same time. for some reason I found this so beautiful.

That ocean view is literally how I picture a Nora Roberts novel when she writes about Wales. ❤

I live in pembrokeshire, out in the country with no close neighbour and I love it. I have a large garden and love being out their. Now at 70 I'm on my own but would never move.

I'm American and my ancestors left Pembrokeshire in the 1630's for the new world. It doesn't look like it's changed very much! Incredibly beautiful. Good luck!

“I’d like to always remember that when the feeling of being lost arrives at my door to trust in the wild places to bring me back to myself.” I love this. So grounding and so true. Thank you for those words. ❤

This little film was beautiful, my hubby and I have moved to a cottage in the countryside and I still get mesmerised by the scenery and nature at it's best, I was ill and it healed me, especially watching the birds and the first time hearing an owl hooting, seeing deer and foxes, total bliss 😊 ☺️ 😊

I'm from Cardiff, and I've always lived in a city my whole life, but lately I've been yearning for the countryside. I'm done with the hustle and bustle of the city, I really want the peaceful countryside. This would be a dream for me.

I relocated to Wales 4 years ago, and the relentless winter grey does take bit of getting used to! This winter was particularly long and wet, but I now structure the bulk of my work to those dreary months, and take the lighter months off. The late spring and summers here are lovely, but it is definitely an adjustment. Lovely video!

This video is the best. I am from South East Wales, just sold my house and bought a bungalow in Pembrokeshire. Been my dream to move there for 2 years. Your video has just made me even more excited to move. Thanks for posting!

My grandparents had a Welsh name, yes, I live in rural Scotland, I absolutely love everything about it! I've got chickens, sheep& lambs in field at back, a hedgehog that visits every night, bats flying at dusk, pheasants all around, deer, its so tranquil & relaxing

This video has filled my soul in such a way. I cried watching the cows and the birds and the flowers and the beautiful stillness of the damp and rainy and foggy days. I too have been in a place of rain and calm and felt the need to shake it up and move away to feel alive, but your video has giving me a perspective I truly needed. Thank you.
