The demon got chastised, lost his eye and wings by other demons for letting the girl's soul go.
But the girl, now angel-chan doesn't have a halo meaning she's a fully fledged angel

i like the idea of demons being just chill about things like this cause they have seen too much in the world and when they find someone who is just never going to be like that they do whatever they can to help while thinking "dam all this! this one will get to be happy!"

Demon's are chaotically aligned while Angels are lawfully aligned. They are still both neutral. While calling demon's selfish makes complete sense, calling an angel selfless is kinda wrong. Like angels usually only ever appear whenever God wants something.

Reminds me of a fanfic I wrote once where I imagined that demons preferred the "taste" of the most evil, corrupted souls, that innocent souls were far too bland for a sophisticated demon's palate. Thus, while they're selfish and potentially dangerous, they serve an important role in the spiritual ecosystem, like bottom-feeders. ;)
