38T to 34T Bike Chainring Replacement

Hi fellow bikers! This is segment is about my 38T to 34T Chainring Replacement. I decided to change it due to technical and ascend and flat riding issues.

Thank you well explained, I was utilizing a 44" front and a rear 34"-11" and skipped down to a 38" same rear gears and actully gained speed in my climbs and the flats are in the 20 plus mph for my 1×10 cross bike perfect, from me in Albuquerque New Mexico thank you!

Very good video thanks for sharing. I have myself a 38T chainring and I don't ride fast, I use my bike for fitness and do a lot of off road riding. I bought a new 34T chainring and new chain and will be installing soon. Given the 4 cog difference the chain length will be proportionally shorter too.
Cheers

Makapagpalit na nga rin po sa 1x setup, mukhang mas ok at mas magaan. Salamat sa video idol! Tuloy tuloy mo lang po...

As I can see watching your video and making the comparison with my drivetrain (which are the same as yours) you were experimenting issues with the chain line and with the capacity of your rear derailleur due to:
a) probably a bad use or no use of spacers on the pedallier or bottom bracket.
b) a bad aligment of the rear derailleur in height by not setting properly the "B" screw as this screw regulates the height of the guide pulley on relation with the cassette biggest sprocket.
Have in mind that Alivio rear derailleur is intended for a 36 T casette max. Although It can handle more...

I’m building a Cannondale and was thinking I’d go 1-9, and a 34 up front, I think even 9 is enough for what I’ll do

A smaller chainring will benefit you primarily on climbs not on flats or straightaways 👌🏼

The only reason why I would change my 32t chainring to a 34t is so that the chain doesn't touch the crankset spider. I see this is a problem on some 104 bcd spiders with 32t chainrings, while I could grind down the spider a little, I would rather change the chainring.

Thank you sa magandang pagkakaexplain.

i have maybe a silly question but i hope maybe you might know? i have an ebike and the front cog has 42 teeth. since the bike chain always skips i planned to get a chain guide however the guides available are for 38 teeth cog. if i change, wht difference can i expect - will it work?
