IN THIS VIDEO:
This video covers additional causes of blur with the oculus quest 2, and the tips and tricks to help clear it up.
1. Lens defects: this topic should have been including in the first video. There many reports from late 2020 and early 2021 of manufacturing lens defects in the oculus quest 2. These defects can cause blur, distortion, and chromatic aberration.

2. Fogging: Lens fogging can be annoying. Mainly its from cool lenses warming up suddenly when you put on the device. Or it's from excessive condensation while playing.
3. This is a more rare case, but it's possible to have air leaking out of your puncta in your eyelids, and could fog the lenses.
4. and 5. Review of some reasons from the other video.
6. Limitations of the device.

Thanks for making these informative videos about VR. I ordered a Quest 2 which will be arriving later today and I've been learning a lot thanks to your videos. Now I feel like I'll know exactly what to do when it arrives to have an optimal Oculus experience. Great job! 👌

To keep the headset positioned correctly to maximize the "sweet spot", I use a halo style headstrap like BOBOVR or Jayol. Not only does it keep the headset in position, it is WAY more comfortable and completely takes the pressure off your face which leads to sweating and fogging. Also no more VR face and VR hair ;). I also upgraded the facial interface to a AMVR which has a pliable outer layer to better conform to your face. Lastly oil from your face can somehow transfer to your lenses without even touching them. I mist a little water on a microfiber and wipe them down, then dry them.

Can't wait for that VR and contacts video. Was contemplating getting lens covers but then figured maybe I will finally take the plunge and try contacts to avoid needing to swap lenses out between me and others playing.

I have noticed that if you breathe through your mouth the breath comes to your lenses and makes them foggy, try keeping your nose clear so you can breathe through it

For fogging, I'll put an 8 inch fan on my shelf at face level. 1) it keeps air flowing so the difference in temperature isn't as significant, thus it reduces and eliminates fogging for me. 2) it keeps my face from sweating against my headset, and 3) not really related, but knowing where the fan is located in relation to where it is blowing on my body, I know my direction in the room. I can also judge by the power of the air how close I am to the fan, thus, I can roughly locate where I am in the room (roughly). It helps me from getting too close to my boundary. Just be aware of the fan noise so you don't annoy people when you're using a voice chat function.

The way I minimise the temperature differential between the headset and your head is to simply put the headset on and move it on top of your head, like you would with sunglasses while indoors and browse the Internet or something. After a minute or two the heat radiating from your head will bring the headset temperature up to body temperature and you can then lower the headset to your eyes and start some fog-free gaming.

The blurry problem for me is only when I am in the menus. There’s a sweet spot where it looks stunning but as soon as the position of the headset moves, shit gets blurry. In games it’s fine though and there is no sweet spot, it’s just clear whatever you do.

ok so let's be honest here: losing a bit of weight by replacing the lenses with fresnel lenses was NOT worth it. Fresnel lenses aren't good for vr and honestly it surprise me Facebook opted for them instead of the "normal" lenses. They cause blur, light "glitches" (god rays) ecc... usually people use them in a photography and for creating videos because they can direct light in a very large area while also beign very small... but don't expect to get good quality by putting them in front of a screen... why facebook, why...

I noticed in the video that, when you clean your lenses, you are only cleaning one side. Do you only need to clean the one side even if you use prescription lenses? (Assuming both sides were clean when you installed them.)

If lenses get foggy and condensation i would put it near a dehumidifier if you are trying to remove it.

Super late to the party, but I have terrible vision at distance, but almost perfect distance close up. Does that mean I should still wear my glasses, even though my eyes are only inches away from the lenses?

I recently bought mine about a week ago. I noticed there are 2 vertical oval circles the reflect my face is that normal? Cause I am seeing blurry sometimes and I want to make sure that's not s fault.

Thing with the fogging up inside the Oculus I ended up using plastic straws and piercing the top of the face seal and it helps tremendously because air typically comes in through around my nose and then the warm air travels up out of the straws and takes the moisture with it since I've done that I haven't had a single problem with my headset fogging up

I get eye strain with the latest Oculus HMDs. It get clear vision, but in no time strain kicks in. Vive, Index or G2 I don't have eye strain.

Hi if I have bad eyesight but don’t want glasses what should I do, I heard lenses can be a pain in the neck. (I mostly struggle with objects far away, and sometimes dry eyes)

are there any thicker rubber facial interfaces because the stock doesn't conform to my face very well and with it on super tight I get a lot of light leak around my nose. Its not fat in my face because my skin is tight to my skull so its just the shape of my skull not conforming. Do they make anything for me? I have to move my OQ2 around my face to get a good blur free image at the cost of light leakage. Would be great to have more rubber roam in the nose area.
