Elden Ring Lore: Witch Hunter Jerren

What's going on Initiate, Bird here and in this video we are going over one of the strongest characters in all of Elden Ring, Castellan Jerren.

Jerren is the elderly castellan of Redmane Castle. In the past, Jerren was a nomadic warrior who became a guest of the Carian Royal Family. There, he became acquainted with General Radahn, the son of Radagon and Rennala, the Carian queen, who would later challenge the stars and arrest their movements, halting fate. He was considered an eccentric by Iji, the blacksmith and war counselor of the Carians. During this time, Jerren made a promise to kill Sellen, a sorceress who had long been a hindrance to the Carians.
After spending time as a guest of the Carians, Jerren served as a guest commander under General Radahn, and the two swore an oath of honourable death to one another. During the Shattering, Radahn fought Malenia, Blade of Miquella in the Battle of Aeonia, and in the aftermath was driven mad by Malenia's rot, cursed to wander the battlefield, devouring the corpses of friends and foes alike. Jerren convened the Radahn Festival to honour his lord, attracting champions from across the Lands Between by promising a battle against the General and a chance to claim his Great Rune.
Among the champions who converge upon Redmane Castle to participate in the festival is a Tarnished who succeeds in defeating Radahn, giving him an honourable death. With Radahn dead, the stars are once again set into motion, and Sellen is dispossessed of her immortality. Finally able to uphold his old promise, Jerren travels to Witchbane Ruins on the Weeping Peninsula, where Sellen is bound by the Academy's shackles. When he arrives, he finds her as a husk, her soul having seemingly already fled. Suspecting Sellen to still be alive somewhere, Jerren continues his hunt, eventually tracking her down to the Academy of Raya Lucaria. He vows to kill her and crush her Primal Glintstone, which facilitated her survival. Should the Tarnished aid him in defeating Sellen, he will thank them before departing, promising to meet them again at the next tournament.

It's unfortunate we didn't get to see Jerren come back as a summon for the last boss of the DLC. It would have been awesome if he caught word of Miquella's plan and got so pissed off that he found a way into the realm of shadow to stop Miquella from using Radahn.

His helm altered is absolutely hilarious. It's just a metal old dude-s face, with an awesome mustache. It cracks me up, and is THE ONLY helm I use now.

Jerren wants to kill selen because thorn in associates side.
When you get to that interaction, jerren is torturing her.
He isnt any better out of context, to what she did.
Also..nobody hurts my teacher.

I saw Gael, saw him happy for once, and I cried. He lived on in his ladies painting. In the end, all that suffering was vindicated. He got a new life to make up for the horrors of his old one. He's still got a job, but he seems to enjoy it now.

Selen while she's nice to us its only because she knows if she aids the tarnished they basically gets political favor and maybe even see it as a means to further spite the carian royal family if they rise and become elden lord. I don't think she's genuinely as nice as she shows I think there is some level of manipulation and lust for power. I don't think she's as bad as Seluvis tho.
