'3 things I wish I knew before my CT heart scan'

A CT heart scan that yields a coronary calcium score is a wonderfully useful and empowering test to have. It yields a reliable gauge of cardiovascular risk, better than cholesterol testing, better than risk calculations, better than any blood test.

Unfortunately, heart scans are also used to exploit people to generate revenues for doctors and the healthcare system. People are therefore often upsold to procedures such as stress nuclear tests, CT coronary angiograms, and even heart catheterizations. Recognize these traps and avoid them, while putting the vital information from a heart scan to good use for your heart disease prevention/reversal program.

About Dr. Davis, Wheat Belly and Undoctored:
Dr. Davis practiced conventional cardiology for 25 years but became discouraged with the predatory and exploitative practices of modern healthcare. He now devotes his efforts to helping people regain magnificent health without doctors or hospitals with results that are SUPERIOR to that obtained through conventional healthcare. His Wheat Belly books have sold 4 million copies in 40 countries.

We draw from the health information of the world, collaborate, share experiences, collect data, and show how to apply new health tools to achieve levels of health that you may have thought unattainable. We do all this at a time when conventional healthcare costs have become crippling.

In addition to the Wheat Belly and Undoctored books, find more of Dr. Davis' conversations at:

What an honest doctor. Very good info. 59yrs old just had my CAC scan on 8-4-22. Came back zero. My dad had lots b4 he passed so family Dr recommended it. Only 71 dollars to perform. Worth it! Kaiser insurance wanted me to consider statins first before they would give me the test. Screw that....I did it on my own. San Jose Ca

My heart scoring scan was 3850, Dr. told me at that time I was the highest score he ever had seen, so I had a heart cath and had 2 100% and 2 at 95% blockages. The scan do work and can save your life. Cleveland Clinic fixed me up and I had zero issues for 4 years now

Thank You Dr. Davis! You are a true giant among men. Your honesty is so refreshing. It is what I have expected all along with every Doctor I have ever known. You belong to just a tiny handful that have lived up to my expectations of professionalism and humanity.

I'm so glad I found this video. I've been having discomfort in my chest for a few weeks, which could be due to anxiety issues, and I have my first cardiology consult coming up in a couple weeks. Your words have definitely given me something to keep in mind while talking with him.

It's so sad that our health isn't of the utmost concern for many doctors and facilities. Instead of trying to get to the root cause of an issue, they're only concerned about how much money we'll bring in.

Very interesting. About 10 years ago my wife and I had a CAC done. Hers was 3 mine was 1187. They suggested a Nuclear Stress Test. It came back inconclusive, so they did an angiogram and it came back 20% blockage in the LAD (the widow maker.) Fast forward, I had an irregular EKG so they suggested I have a nuclear CT done. Well, the cardiologist said my heart was functioning normally. I've been taking K2 with mk7, D3 and IP6 ever since 2012.
This same cardiologist told my wife's friend that she needed a stint. She went to Las Vegas to get it done because they live in Henderson NV. Doctor told her she didn't and asked who said she did. So I don't know what to believe. I certainly don't believe Dr. Bhambi in Bakersfield California.

I had a CAC scan at the insistence of my Cardiologist. Results were .74 He insisted I start statins immediately. When I refused and told him I was overjoyed my score was so low, the 5 minute debate ensued. My lipid panel was great. Overall cholesterol a little high, as well as LDL. He said nothing at all about my HDL being so high (good) and my triglycerides being so low! (great). I need to find a keto friendly Cardiologist.

The "Loss Leader" comment really got me. I will forever look at my Doctor as a Salesperson 1st and a doctor 2nd. I think we often forget that healthcare is for profit industry.

Thank you for your efforts to educate about the problems within our medical systems … if only more doctors were so conscientious. God bless you.

In Canada you cannot get a CT scan unless your doctor requests it. But you can get it in Detroit for $180.00 . I have only had ultrasound sound test done. 3 years no progression. 3 years grain free ! 🔥🏋️‍♂️🙏✌🇨🇦🇨🇦🥦🥑🍖🍗💗

One of the few doctors of conscience! I’m going for a checkup soon and will definitely take note of your advice! Thank you, doctor!

My husband’s CAC score was 1580. He had a massive heart attack 1 week later ended up with a 5 vessel bypass and 3 valves repaired. Now he had heart failure and kidney failure from the heart attack. He was 67 at the time.

Thanks for the information. After my CT scan, the doctor that ordered it (my endocrinologist) said I needed to see a cardiologist immediately. He added that ai might have to get stents. My cardiologist laughed and said he had the same numbers. Having no symptoms and after an extra test or two, he said I would have to just be checked every two years or so.
