In this video, I talk about all the things I wish I knew and tips and tricks someone would have given me before I got my very first Tesla. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba located in the center of Canada where the temperature has gone as low as -47 degrees celsius last year. These are extreme conditions for all types of vehicles including ICE cars. But, my car still works fine when it goes down that low, you just have to follow these simple tips.

Good tips, but tip#1 is don’t wash your car at -35! Lol. Wait until -10 maybe... always open all your windows and doors a little after washing to break the ice before it’s frozen solid

That's why I have resisted the strong urge to wash my car since I got it in December. Another tip is to dry all your rubber seals around the doors, frunk and trunk. I also treated the rubber seals, where the side windows meet then, with a silicone treatment that I got at CTC. It helps prevent the windows from freezing to the rubber seals. You can also spray the door handle pivot points with WD40.

As a fellow Canadian with an EV, these are excellent tips. I learned a bunch of things too. Thanks for this video. Will definitely do this when I get my model 3. Great video and channel.

How are your kms on the highway at those temps? I'm in Ontario and travel 225 km a day and worried about the long range not getting me to work and back.

It sounds like a look of work because of the ice.
Is it any different from another cars? I live in Montreal, I never have those with old previous cars.

Did you undercoat or rustproof your M3. If not, do you notice any corrosion after a couple winters in Manitoba?
