2025 New York Auto Show | 2026 Honda Passport

The 2026 Honda Passport bulks up, with a boxy design that leans toward off-roading. But the makeover goes further than looks. Unlike many of its competitors, the Passport continues to be powered by a V6 engine that's good for 285 horsepower. Also new is a 10-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the previous nine-speed one. It’s the same powertrain found in the current Honda Pilot.

When you buy a tester please buy one with a Leather interior in tan. I’ve seen the tan interior and it’s gorgeous and your viewers will fall in love with it. It’s the most posh looking and it has to be seen by everyone who has been crying for color.

A very small percentage of SUV owners go off-road, so Honda needs to offer a comfortable luxury Touring trim with silver wheels, ventilated seats, ultra-premium stereo, and none of the off-road nonsense nobody needs.

Push button gear selector.. YUCK!. Placing it right next to the cup holders, DOUBLE YUCK! I can see my coffee, soda, or whatever stick stuff I am drinking splashing out of the cups and onto the push buttons making them stick and be non-responsive in a very short time. Who hasn't hit a pothole and have their LIQUID refreshment not splash out of the cup and onto that area right next to the cup holder? Who??
And just one other comment regarding the transmission. Wouldn't it be nice to have an off road vehicle come with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION????

SUV has a lot of thing to like but in this economy it's hard to justify the cost especially after tax and dealer markup. A few dealerships near me already charging close to 50k with optional accessories before tax and dealer fees.

Big Questions: Did Honda fix all of their problems for 2026? V6 problems & several more. Please advise. Since Toyota discontinued V6 Honda would be the best option except their 2023, 2024, 2025 are plagued with problems

Well at least it doesn't have a "turbo charged" 4 banger.

No point, in such vehicle, "active grille shutters" - Superfluous gadget will sooner or later trigger warning light and trip to dealership.

The supersized Honda Bronco Sport, with some Isuzu Axiom treatment in the back. I don't get why you need such a big and tough-looking vehicle that isn't off-road capable just to run errands at Costco, but consumers really love this.

It looks worse, and for a >$50K, Honda gives you an ugly tablet infotainment. The plus side is that it has a V6.
