Pat Cummins Bowling Action Analysis-

[A] RUN-UP:
[1] Pat Cummins starts off with a decent and steady run-up.
[2] He gradually increases his speed & his running strides but keeping sure that they are all balanced in nature.
[3] He runs in a straight line aiming straight towards his target, always landing on his mid-foot while running.
[4] He maintains a steady pace & starts off his run-up with a slight forward lean.

[B] JUMP & GATHER:
[1] He has a nice & long jump which helps him in transferring his momentum from his run-up to his BFC.
[2] He uses his shin lead during his jump by making his right-shin, lead the rest of his body.
[3] Initially he used to gather his load-up away from his body & loaded it behind his head but after remodeling his action he had his gather close to his body & load-up side to head which helped him to cut down counter-rotation & lateral flexion.
[4] During the initial phase of his career he used to had a mixed action i.e. his lower body faced towards Umpire but his upper body faced the batsman at BFC.
[5] So, after consultation with Dennis Lilly he got to know that it's difficult to change one's lower portion of the body so he remodeled his upper shoulders from a front-on position to a side-on position and became a side-on bowler.

[C] BFC:
[1] Pat Cummins has a very quick BFC, as during his BFC his heels never touches the ground that helps him in transferring his momentum from back-foot to front-foot directly without collapsing at his back-foot.
[2] He is a Knee-dominant side-on bowler i.e. he slightly bent his knee during his BFC to generate more rotational power from his trunk as well.
[3] He also has a nice and smooth pre-turn before releasing the ball.
[4] During his BFC his non-bowling arm is at its highest position resulting in a full arm swing & a delayed bowling arm.

[D] FFC & DELIVERY STRIDE:
[1] During his delivery stride he forms a speed-bolt "Z" position which not only helps him to bowl fast but also it made sure that he is properly aligned during his delivery stride.
[2] As one can clearly see the difference in his body alignment between his old & new action. In his old action he shows a greater lateral flexion just like Ferguson, but in his new action he is much more aligned & is targeted more towards the batsman than gully point.
[3] He doesn't have a high-knee angle like Shaun Tait or Brett Lee, but stills keeps his head steady during the ball release, looking towards the batsman, which was a major flaw in his previous action that his head falled-off even before his front-foot contacted the ground.
[4] Before ball release he pulls back his back-foot forming an inverted "V" shape between his legs during the release. Doing this also helps him in a nice & straight chest drive.
[5] He has a high release of around 8 to 9 feet off the ground which allows him to generate more bounce & pace from the pitch.
[6] He also has a nice and straight follow through, while still keeping an eye on the ball.
