Step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny!

What if an older Indiana Jones came back for one last big adventure? Wouldn’t that be crazy? Well wonder no more, because that movie came out 15 years ago and it was called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. But wait, what if an older Indiana Jones came back for one last big adventure AGAIN? Ahhh well if that sounds like a good time, you’re in luck!

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny definitely raises some questions. Like did they copy/paste this premise from The Force Awakens? Why do all older Harrison Ford characters now have terrible lives? How did Zoller survive without a scratch the exact thing that took out Dennis Hopper in Speed? How do these bad guys keep knowing where to pop out? How hard to Helena punch Indy to drag him from Ancient Greece all the way to New York City?

To answer all these questions, check out the pitch meeting that led to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny!

Helena dragging Indy back out of the past where he feels he belongs is an excellent allegory for modern Hollywood.

"But wait, isn't he still wanted for murder?"
"Hey, shut up."
God I love these videos

It's been said a millions times already, but Indy riding off into the sunset with his Father, Marcus, and Sala really was a perfect ending. For me Indiana Jones will always be a trilogy.

"It's not plagiarism if you're stealing from yourself" should be a disney motto.

“This is a star wars” was the most unexpected but greatest line 😂

I used to hate bad, lazy movies but now I love them because they make for great pitch meetings.

"Isn't Indy still wanted for murder?"
"Hey shut up, and so that's about it..."

This is gold.

"Copy/paste, baby!"
Love the joyful way Ryan shreds this movie 😂

"This is a star wars" is the new pitch meeting phrase I didn't know I needed

"He's the character from the thing that made us money before!" is such a good line.

"Copy, Paste, baby!" Yes, this is the extent of creativity that has come out of most Hollywood films for several years now.

When I watched Teddy handcuff the goon to that grate underwater my immediate thought was "OH-mygod he just murdered that guy...that's gonna be in the pitch meeting".

Was not disappointed lol

I'm really liking Producer guy showing more resistance to Writer guy's BS. Just no-selling him on the bad guy surviving something clearly fatal. Sure it got pushed through anyway but I really, REALLY like the idea of the producer slowly over time actually realizing how terrible the writing is for some things and not going along with it. It's like character development or something!

That thing of Sallah (also being 80) begging for just one final adventure and Indy like: "not this time" has go to be the most ever

“He got Dennis Hoppered.”💀
I‘m totally using that.

"No, he doesn't, he died, he's a dead guy" is my favorite line here. Producer guy knows what's going too far even for a movie, and he can't just let it go. Lol, "he got Dennis Hopper'd it sounds like..."

Studios should hire Ryan to do a pitch meeting before any movie is released, for possible re-edits. He's far better than a focus group.

I can feel Ryan's disdain for every facet of this movie.

And I gotta say I am absolutely here for it

“When you bring back a beloved character they have to be sad and miserable.”

Fortunately, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell never took kindly to rules like that. To the tune of over a billion.
