Thanks the video. I was trained on axalta products, but started a new job that sprays solvent. Axalta has such a specific application method (wet on wet), so its definitely been an adjustment. Gonna be tackling my first blend job this week, so this video is a lifesaver lol

I have used the Speedokote color blender to blend when it is still wet and had excellent results also. I was using a ready to spray base coat so I'm not sure how it would react with a reduced base coat when applied on the wet blender though. Thanks for another great video Chris!

I have a question about what grit sandpaper for prepping the original clear for this repair. I have the same situation on an older Silverado we repaired the rusted wheel wells and are getting ready to blend into the rest of the box. Thank you!

New gun seems to be working well👍I use a lot of Speedokote products and the color blender is a decent price. I like the SMR 42 /2 to 1 clear they have. Makes 6 sprayable quarts for 159.00. I like it so much i'm going to use it on nearly every job. At about $28 a quart, it's easy enuf for me to budget into small jobs or entire car. Dries a bit slow, so I ordered the fast kit this time.
I'm guessing you are using the new gun on some jobs before posting a video or review. Well, back to the garage. Job isn't going to finish itself...

Just did a small spot repair on a quarter panel using color matched spray. The blend came out terrible. When you mention tiger stripping and modelling, is that the same as a halo effect? I get that a wet bed is suppose to smooth the surface so the metallic flakes land flat. Just not sure of the differences between the three mentioned. Great videos as usual.
