The way you explain form is so helpful

Monday was my 3rd OT class and I wrecked myself on the tred and had to recover until Friday. In between I watched this video and implemented the change and today, I am not wrecked from the tred. I've also been following your rowing videos and they are very helpful. Thanks so much!

Running coaches always say this, but it really comes down to individual body mechanics. If your foot strike is pretty quiet and you feel no pain, don’t switch to toe/midfoot strike if you’re a heel runner. Plenty of world class distance runners were heel strikers

I get what you’re saying, but heel strike doesn’t matter. What matters is your foot’s position at maximal load. I’m not saying this to make excuses for myself as I am a naturally neutral, midfoot runner. I’m saying it because a large majority of pro-marathoners run with a heel strike 🤷🏻‍♂️

My honest recommendation is to run with your natural posture, cadence and foot strike, and bounce. Run often, allowing your body to become more efficient and your posture will change naturally to what will produce you the best results.

I tried this and it really helped. However I found on higher speeds it feels as if I'm going backwards like the treadmill is pushing me backward .

Thank you so much! Started to get into running recently, and I had poor running form and shin splint pain. Your video helped immensely and I’m running better pulling my heels under me. ❤

I usually walk in a incline on a treadmill but when I run afterwards without a incline it feels as if I'm running down hill

I see what you're saying is mid-foot strides are important strategy for long distance races: half/full or ultra distance runners for finish races🤔 if I didn't get points right, maybe recommend me other video relate to this?🤔🤔🤫🙋‍♂️ I started full marathon race like 2 years ago

This is very helpful to all beginner like me. Thankyou bro

U need that dorsi flex for your tendons and ankle work. You get more explosions from run to jump. But dead out sprint, def run on balls of feet and knee to chest. The faster you run the less dorsi flex. 👍🏽

How tall is this guy??? Because 12 mph looks like me at 5 mph 😂

It’s easy to learn w/ no shoes. After 3 steps of heal striking your body will fight you.

Good for sprinting suboptimal for distance

Honestly I don't care if my form isn't great for running as long as I'm running that's what matters to me.

I’m less concerned about form and more concerned about how long I’m running for- you can have the best form but still have the same affects. Just make sure you don’t hold the handle no matter what speed you’re at

It’s not bad form because modern running shoes compensate for the impact

Run barefoot for the easy understanding. You will never strike heel first barefoot. It's the heel cushioning that makes you alter your style. proper foot strikers show very little heel wear on their shoe and good racing flats have little heel cushioning.
