Why Does This Watch Have A Huge Crown?

Despite the technical reason, this is one of my favorite crowns. The diamond design adds more personality to something that usually doesn’t have much differentials. Since the case is big, I think the crow has a good proportion.

I heard from some people that they got rid of the Big Pilot because the large crown dug into their skin; it no longer needs to be so big anymore

Not so many moons ago, this watch was still priced below 5k, it was expensive but still borderline "fairly" priced. oh my.

Like they reduced the case size they should reduce the crown. It’s borderline tacky

Just wanted to drop a watch related note. Came across a series from 2018, called “Little Drummer Girl.” So far so good as far as the overall show goes; however the watch flexing the director shoots is pretty phenomenal. I won’t drop what’s been shown so far, but here’s a hint, they’ve all been vintage pieces as it is a period piece, circa late 1970’s. So, for all you horological junkies that love calling out pieces on the screen; this one is for you!!!

The triangle rationale is a little flaky. Hopefully you'd check your watch before you entered the cockpit. At which point you'd know if it was upside down because you'd be wondering why the crown had disappeared 🙄
