UPDATE: Every Yamaha R9 is DELAYED / Here's what we know

The brand new YZF-R9 deliveries have been pushed way back now according to a letter directly from the brand. The dates of release are now much later, and seem to be somewhat specific to the bike color as well, which I discuss. But the main reason for delay on this motorcycle has to due with the new frame design Yamaha did. Looks like our full review will not be anytime soon, and all we have is the specs and performance data to drool over for now. This bike will sit between the R7 and R1, being a comparable replacement for the R6 as far as horsepower and torque go. I will continue to update you as I hear more details. Had a chat at the dealer earlier and he told me they didn't expect them until OCTOBER (and only blue ones lmao). This is a big dealer too. I don't blame yamaha for taking their time with this one, with how much people love the R6 they got some big ole boots to fill!

My dealer is getting 3 of each color. They just told me they will come scattered through quarter 3. I put a deposit on one today. Could use the time to pay down other things get my gear etc. I'm excited

I feel you're pain whoever ordered one of these. I put money down early in 2023 for a new Hayabusa. They said August. Ended up being late October before anyone got them in. I'm in a seasonal state.

I love my MT-09 SP which is why I wanted the R9, but at this point I an seriously considering canceling my order and going with a ZX-6R.

Dude, I put a deposit down to reserve the blue version. My dealership, where I reserved the R9, informed me that mine will be shipped in July. When will it be ready for me to collect? His guess is as good as mine 😅. In the meantime, I will be riding the 2025 CFMOTO 675SS 😁

The delay was extended more a few weeks ago due to Yamaha recalling them since EFI issues are plaguing the new CP3 models r9 included.

I’d bet the biggest problem is you live in Nebraska, big port cities like East/West coast and Texas will get them first

Where'd all the ones in MotoAmerica, WSSP, etc. come from...not really homologated if they don't sell them to consumers!

I’m surprised so many people are quick to jump on a new platform with a new frame. The engine is proven, but it is otherwise the first batch of this new bike so expect issues. I do hope it all goes well though

I own xsr900 2023, placed a deposit for new r9, dealer has one bike coming, hoping for June. I am supposed to be the first one getting it. Only 2 bikes so far allocated to my country))

I’ve known since the letter came out that the Redline color I'm waiting on isn't due until Q3. 😢 I’ve got several other bikes, but still...
If the new V2S Ducati wasn't so much more $, I'd be tempted to switch. It did receive some glowing reviews from the press launch.

I live in Louisiana and have a deposit on one and the last I spoke with them, they said the bikes should be in April/May. And supposedly the one i ordered should be in before that. So I'm not sure if it's region based or not.
