Dragon Quest Mobile Games Are Destined to Fail?

Dragon Quest has released several mobile games over the years in many different genres, but what kind of success have these games seen in Japan and in the West?

Does the recent shutdown of four Dragon Quest games, Keshi Keshi, Champions, Tact and Monsters Super Light show a pattern of Dragon Quest's mobile health? And is it even worth getting into Dragon Quest mobile games? In this video we will explore the history of Dragon Quest mobile games and try to understand if Dragon Quest has a future on mobile.

I'm a Dragon Quest Tact survivor... Lord, I loved that game. They announced the shut down of the global servers on Christmas of 2023 man... I miss it.

When you put it in a timeline like this you can almost map the thought process behind all the marketing in the west for these games and it shows how they put less and less effort into actually pushing games here. Like i wonder do they just think DQ will never be big in the west so they give up quickly? Its baffling.

it's a shame, considering that one of the most beautiful love letters to Dragon Quest (and other classic jrpgs) that i've experienced is a mobile game as well

Well being honest I think their best DQ Mobile game is DQoTS all the other are just other singe player gachas and getting pretty repetitive imo but DQoTS was so unique with his multiplayer aspect. Sad that they chose to pull the plug off for the west version I think we had pretty big community in the west for this game as well.

Im very much thinking about going through the process of getting and then spoofing the dragon quest walk game because it looks like a really fun and innovative "walking" type game that i dont see coming over west anytime soon....and i want more of anything dragon quest lol

Dragón quest champions was my fav of these i enjoyed playing it till they noticed i was an american citicen player so they kicked me out the server
