Dragon Quest 1 (Mobile) Review

Yeah, turned out that there was no way all three Dragon Quest games were fitting in one video.

Very well done, this game actually taught me to read at a couple grade levels ahead all those years back.

Fun fact, the reason there's only one hero and typically one monster (always one?) on screen was to ensure console players weren't overwhelmed.

I got this game on the NES way back when and I was amazed with it's structure. I was ten and had no idea what and rpg was. The closest I had gotten up until that point was The Legend of Zelda II since it had experience points and leveling. I would sit and play this game for eight hours at a stretch. I was totally enthralled by it. Classic, classic game and very important for console rpgs.

I started back in the day with the holy trinity of games: Ultima, Wizardry and Might & Magic. And oh boy, Dragon Warrior was easy in comparison. Clear goal and a logical created world to explore. And nothing tops Wizardry 4 in terms of difficulty. When you grind to get your level up quickly the difficulty goes into easy territory very fast in Dragon Warrior. It’s the meat of early jrpgs. It took them some time to reach Might and Magic levels of story telling.

If I have never played Dragon quest and want to play XI, Where do you recommend me to start? By 1 to 3 on mobile? Also I don't have MUCH time to play a lot of games before playing XI
