Juneteenth is a national holiday that marks the end of slavery following the conclusion of the Civil War in 1865 and has been celebrated by Black Americans for decades. Still, it wasn't until three years ago that it was recognized as a Federal holiday.

The Role Africans had regarding #Juneteeth was to sell other Africans and anyone who was not in their tribe.

They should have called it emancipation day.. “Juneteenth” neither describes when it is, or what it is! Sounds like a 6 year old made it up, not knowing what actually happened! What if they called the fourth of july “Julypreteenth” makes no sense!

It is important to remember that while you are celebrating and happy on your holidays, it is not at all cool to try and make other people unhappy on that day, just because they are not part of your community. Such an obvious thing..but still got to spell it out for some folks. Other people don't need to be unhappy for you to ge happy, happiness does not work that way 🙈😵‍💫😂

Why is it a national holiday im confused slavery ended back in when Lincoln was president, hence the reason he was killed but not sure why it a national holiday though

The other minorities need a holiday also they've suffered also. This is one sided and unfair I will never acknowledge it as a holiday🤢
