This new kit includes some great spec improvements over the last kit and upgrades all the lights on the tools and included in the kit to LED. The New LED Flashlight is a HUGE upgrade over the old version. There is also a new 2 Amp Fast Charger included that does not look like any chargers we have been used to, but it does work quite well.

Performance-wise, these new kits work very well for a DIY first tool kit. There is room to get more power through the purchase of larger batteries and also room to grow with the 2 batteries that are included. 4 years after this video was made (2024) I've bought the updated version of this awesome kit. Same tools, different style or minor changes, but the same items. I am so happy to see the video, get a few tips and be able to say thank you! Also think it's amazing to say that it still costs the same! $199.00 and I'm happy with that price. Thanks again.

I won Ryobi's old 6 piece set that you guys gave away a couple of years ago. It's been great for DIY stuff around the house. I use the drill, impact driver, and flashlight all the time. The little circular saw is kind of weak, and one of the batteries crapped out after about 6 months, but I've been extremely happy with the tools other than that. I've got a corded circular saw anyway, so I just use the Ryobi for small stuff and it does great. It just has trouble when you get to something like a 2x4. The reciprocating saw is better than I expected. I had a mulberry tree that died in my backyard this summer. It was about 7" at the base. I put a Diablo blade in it, and that recip saw went right through it. Mulberry is some hard wood, too. Harder than maple. I saved the bigger pieces for some future woodworking projects. Thanks again for giving that set away! You guys are awesome!

I just bought this kit, it came with charge, 1 x 1.5 amp, and 2 x 4.0 amp batteries. I have used everything except The ligh añd saws all, love the kit.

Compatibility in battery usage, a great feature. This is what makes Ryobi a great brand. Not for professional contractors but for home projects that require decent tools to build with accuracy and speed, these are right on the money! .I own several brands and against my early judgement of Ryobi I only purchased a corded hand drill and miter saw with this brand. After more than 10 years of using them on home projects with the hand drill in constant usage, I have yet to replace them. Great tools that are shadowed by the more popular brands. The combo kits are awesome! The 1.5AH batteries are great as starter batteries, but a 3AH or higher is much much better if you want that extra power, especially if you have a 7-1/4 circular saw. Great honest product insight video! Thumbs UP!

Awesome review. Definitely going dewalt in the future, done enough research and worked with enough tradesmen to make that decision. But in the meantime for basic house repairs and projects, this entry kit will be great. Done enough research on ryobi to know it's fanbase is loyal!
