Restoration of a unique antique lighter 'GRENADE'

Restoration of an Extremely Rare and Old Lighter in the form of a "grenade" from World War II. In this video I will do a complete restoration of a unique trench gas lighter made from brass, metal and a rifle bullet tip. This is a real historical artifact that is about 100 years old. Presumably, this artifact was made in one instance. I bought this lighter at an antique auction. Its owner said that he found it, during renovations, in the old house of his grandfather, who fought during World War 2. It was probably made in 1920-1940. If you have come across something similar and know more information about this extraordinary find, then write in the comments, I will be very interested to read. I received the lighter in very bad condition, it is all rusty and its surface is very damaged in corrosion and patina. Presumably, the lighter was lying among rusty garbage and scrap metal. After receiving this lighter, I immediately began to restore it. It was very interesting to see the result of the restoration and whether it would work. So, I demonstrated the entire process of restoration of this relic in my video. The work took a lot of time and effort. I suggest you view my work and evaluate the result of the restoration😊. Enjoy watching the video!📺

Wow, where do you find these old lighters? It makes me sad that these beautiful works of art were replaced by cheap, disposable plastic lighters and then smoking was essentially banned. What a collection you must have! Always enjoy these videos. I love restorations of things from times I wished I lived in. Everything was built to last and there were beautiful decorations on the simplest things.

It really turned out amazingly well. The leather absorber washer should be reversed, skin side facing the bolt head though. Keep up the great work!

Nice job! Now it just needs some kind of cap for the wick to prevent lighter fluid for evaporating. Perhaps something like a spent cartridge would fit the theme.

Curious that someone was willing to give up this rare piece of heritage. I imagine it is challenging to restore items like this sensibly and to preserve its originality.
